Here is some good information on what you should know when posting to Facebook…from your friends at PC Co-Pilots
Public Service Announcement: Posting those copyright notices on FB does NOT do anything. According to FB’s End User License Agreement, which everyone agreed to on account creation, FB has rights to anything posted including information or photos. They can use these as they see fit and keep a copy of your account even if you disable it. Further, ANYTHING posted ANYWHERE online is fair game to g…ov’t or private entities. If they can find it, they can use it. Similar to leaving something in your yard visible to the public, its considered public domain and therefore will not be protected by any status you post. As a rule, avoid posting anything anywhere that you would not want made public knowledge or want to retain copyrights over.
