So, have you been to the Tate Meat & Market at the intersection of Hwy 53 E and Hwy 108? What did you think of the meats?
I stopped in yesterday afternoon on my way home from Canton and totally enjoyed my time there talking with Jake. He was very polite and helpful in answering my questions about ‘where do they get their meat’? “Locally sourced between here and Calhoun” and I loved that they keep the meat covered with cellophane, even while in the meat case. Jake says it keeps it fresh and clean. They even grind the beef and pork on site! Awesome customer service for sure!
Since this was my first time here, I wanted to try something of everything, so I purchased a half pound of hot sausage, and medium sausage, a Filet Mignon, a Ribeye and a New York Strip. It was nice to be able to choose which steak I wanted. It made me remember the ole’ Blue Star butcher, Phillip. Phillip got to the point where he knew exactly what we wanted each Friday. We would call in our order first thing Friday morning and I would pick up Friday after work. Those were the good ole’ days. Maybe Tate Meat & Market will be just like Blue Star was 🙂
If you haven’t tried the meats at Tate Meat & Market, you should get by and do so. Call in your order or stop in and let them cut your steaks to your specifications. We had the Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon and it was delicious.
We like the idea of Tate Meat & Market providing our community with good, quality beef that contains no steroids or added hormones. The grass-fed beef is from the Pickens County and surrounding area.
Thanks for being on my way home yesterday!
