We are so blessed to be living in North Georgia! One of the most beautiful times of the day is first thing in the morning when the sun comes up or at sunset. Yesterday evening, I got a wonderful picture of the sun as it was setting behind the North Georgia Mountains. We are truly fortunate to live in the North Georgia Mountains!!!
We are so blessed to be living in the North Georgia Mountains and especially Bent Tree. We live on a road without a lot of traffic and we walk Ms Annie without a lease. She is very good about staying close and if we hear a car, we get off to the side of the road and she sits until after the car goes past. Annie is 10 years old so this has been a long standing exercise for us and we never worry about her.
While out walking, we see and hear nature at its best and I wanted to share some of our photos.
Thank You Lord for allowing us this day and to be able to enjoy these beautiful pictures and this beautiful place.
We have lived in the North Georgia Mountains for the past 20 years. The air is fresh, the views are gorgeous and living here is what most people dream of. Sometimes we tend to take our little area of the world for granted. Not meaning to, but when you have this kind of living day in and day out, you become use to it until you look outside one morning and see a view like this…
Then you thank the good Lord for the North Georgia Mountains!

Welcome to the Bent Tree Golf Center
Bent Tree is the home of one of the best courses ever designed by the renowned course designer Joe Lee. It’s a challenging 18 holes – a par 72 course measuring 6410 yards from the back tees with a 71.2/130 rating. There are three other sets of tees – burgundy at 6122 yards (70.6/129 rating), white at 5765 yards (68.9/128 rating) and reds, measuring 4810 yards (69.5/119 rating). The course meanders past waterfalls, mountain streams and brooks and boldly confronts the broad shoulder of Sharp Top Mountain. It’s a deceptively tranquil setting for a course that requires accuracy at every turn.
Complete with practice range, putting green, and practice bunker, all of the greens and bunkers were completely rebuilt in 2001. Head Professional Russell Smith and Assistant Professional Rick Abbott are both Class A PGA members.

Let Us Celebrate in 2008 the 100th Year Anniversary of Mother’s Day!
On Sunday, May 11, our nation will celebrate the 100th year anniversary of Mother’s Day. The United Kingdom began celebrating mothers much earlier than the United States. In the 17th century, on “Mothering Sunday,” children in the UK presented their mothers with flowers and “Mothering Cakes.” Early Christians celebrated a sort of mother’s day each year (on the fourth Sunday of Lent), when they remembered and celebrated the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ. Legend points to mother’s day remembrances practiced each spring by the ancient Romans and Greeks. [Read more…]
