Harvest Table Farm, located in Talking Rock, is a mixed vegetable operation run by Meghan Cole. It is a micro-enterprise of the Kaluna Healing and Learning Farm, which offers workshops and educational programs. Many of you may be familiar with the farm’s past identity as Whitestone Farm. While the name and face of the farm are new, there is still a deep commitment and moral obligation to steward the land in the best way possible. The farm offers an incredible diversity of organically-grown (not certified) vegetables for local markets, and also offers full and half shares of produce for a 22-week CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program.
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, which refers to a partnership between the farmer and consumer. A CSA is an annual agreement wherein community members can support farmers by purchasing “shares” of the coming season’s harvest. The member gets a good deal compared to regular market prices and the farmer is able to access working capital in the form of dollars when it is needed most (at the beginning of the season). As your farmer, Meghan agrees to do everything she can to supply your family with a season’s worth of the best food imaginable. All of the vegetables, herbs and fruit are grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, in harmony with nature.
Members of the 2015 CSA will have the option to pick-up shares at Natural Market Place on Tuesdays from 1-6 pm. To find out more about Harvest Table Farm’s CSA program, please visit the following link:
