Home Security & Personal Safety Protection

August 22, 2015 by Beth Leave a Comment

when you need to protect your family and your home, be sure to get a security system. GR 841-10 Security 2Another wonderful safety tip from Cheryl where you can learn a tremendous amount of safety tips for you and your family.

Home Security & Personal Safety Protection

Be Proactive & Determine That Now Is The Time To Install A Home Security System!

Problem: You are seeing more home burglary/home invasion robbery crimes in your  community but keep thinking “it won’t happen to me and my family.” However, you know it could be just a matter of time – your home could be attacked as easily as the next home.  And you still DON’T have a security system!  You are now beginning to realize the value a home security system provides – an early alert warning, protection for your home and family, plus 24/7 peace of mind knowing someone is always on the other end to get help.

Solution: Determine a budget for your security system and take immediate action.  A quality standard security system can cost between $99-500+.  This will depend upon the size of your home and protection level.  When you speak with a professional alarm representative, they will give you an accurate cost for your security investment.  In fact if cost is a major factor – start out with the basic protection coverage and add to the security system as your needs and budget allow.

Tips To Accomplishing This Task

• Be proactive and take action.  There are many good alarm companies you can check with.  One of our security resources is with ADT. They discuss your security concerns and provide you an estimate over the phone.  Just call 888-789-9041 and talk with a friendly, knowledgeable security representative and learn what the investment will be to protect your home. Because the security systems are totally wireless – they can quote an accurate price over the phone versus companies that require a 1-2 hour home presentation because they only install hardwired systems.  They also offers a special security system package at no charge* – you just pay a $99 installation fee (and any additional protection charges) plus the ADT 24-hour monitoring services.  Again, call 888-789-9041 and speak with a professional representative.

• When you speak with the alarm professional, make sure the protection covers all entry doors that lead into your home; include a motion detector** on both the main and basement levels; a keypad at the primary entry (+ master bedroom); and protect vulnerable windows.  When the alarm technician arrives, he will review your protection and can make further changes, recommendations, or upgrades to your security protection.  Your installation can usually be scheduled within 4-5 business days after you sign up.

**Pets – cats and big dogs – may be a factor in motion detector locations

Remember the tendency is for home burglary and personal crimes to increase during the holiday season.  Be proactive – implement optimum protection strategies for your home security and personal safety so you avoid becoming a crime victim!

It is believed that every family should have the opportunity to protect the things they value most. Let us help you with your security connections solutions!

This is what you get for $99 ~ ADT America’s #1 Home Security Provider Serving More Than 6 Million Customers

  • Three door/window protection devices
  • 1 motion sensor
  • 1 wireless key remote
  • 1 keypad
  • Window decals/yard sign
  • All wiring and labor necessary for complete installation

Introductory Offer!

P.S. Go ahead and share this with friends or loved ones you know who may need to increase their personal safety & home security.

Automatically Stay In Touch With Your Past Clients and Customers

June 10, 2015 by Beth Leave a Comment

Automatically Sending A Greeting Card Will Guarantee That You Stay In Touch With Your Past Clients And Customers!

Thanx 3When I sold Real Estate, sending a card was part of what I did to build and stay in touch with my clients. These are the people who I helped purchase property, helped to sell their property and who helped me make my living in Real Estate…the people who you loved working with and you hope, loved working with you too! People that you worked for and built a relationship with, they are your sphere of influence. So you must stay in contact with your ‘sphere’ because if you don’t, they forget you like a ‘hot potato’…now I know we don’t want to think that this is true, we want to think that working with these people for weeks and months at a time, you become ‘bonded’; you know their family, their birthdays, their children’s christenings…but the fact of the matter is, once the big ‘hoopala’ is over and the property closes, you are over too…unless you stay in contact with your clients.

We, as a society, are busy people – working, raising our family, etc…In Real Estate, we are working clients simultaneously and we don’t always have time to stay in contact with our prior clients once we ‘close’ that deal…but we cannot NOT stay in contact with those client once we close the deal as they now become ready, willing and able ‘referral sources’ and you MUST continue to stay in contact with these clients. If you’ve done a good job and they love what you have did for them, they will refer you, but if you don’t stay in contact with them, no matter what kind of exceptional job you did for them, they will forget you just as fast.

That is where www.heartfeltpromotions.com comes into play. Yes, you need a sure proof, easy, effective and convenient way to stay in contact with your clients that gets things done and here you can send a printed greeting card, to your sphere of influence, with your personal message in Less than 60 Seconds and you can automatically set it to where a greeting card with your personal message goes out to the sphere automatically…

Remember Ron Papeil, the Set It And Forget It Rotisserie?…that is what www.heartfeltpromotions.com is all about, you set it up once and forget it and your continuous marketing goes out to yourThankx sphere automatically, as scheduled, forever and ever!!!

Check out www.heartfeltpromotions.com today. Sign up for a free account and see the many cards available. You can even customize your cards to personally fit your own needs. You will be thrilled at how something so easy can make your life so much easier.

Sunday afternoon Visit to Chattanooga

December 27, 2009 by Beth Leave a Comment

Today my husband and I took a drive up to Chattanooga to visit his mother. During our visit, we met up with his sister and brother-n-law and after our visit, we all went to a Middle Eastern restaurant called Ankar’s Hoagies.

Ankar’s Hoagies was established in 1979 and features flavors from the Mediterranean and Middle East, as well as classic American sandwiches. This is an ole’ haunt that my husband frequented when he was still living in Chattanooga.

When we get to Chattanooga, we always try to eat at Ankar’s. One of our favorites is the authentic Gyros sandwich, which consists of their delicious blend of beef and lamb with tomatoes, onions and topped with their special gyros sauce. All this is served on Middle Eastern Pita Bread – Yum Yum! Oh and don’t forget their Onion Rings!!! Oh My Gosh!

If you get the chance while you’re in Chattanooga, check out http://www.ankarshoagiesonline.com you will be so glad that you did.

Back-to-School Season & Swine Flu

October 10, 2009 by Beth 1 Comment

Swine Flu: Five Tips to Teach Your Kids

Courtesy of www.thebeehive.org

A group of school kids wearing backpacks.

Do you want to protect your kids from swine flu? That’s understandable. There’s so much being said in the media about the novel H1N1 (swine flu virus) and the regular, seasonal flu virus that’s transmitted via human-to-human contact during flu season (October through May, primarily).

The good news: if you can ace these five parental tips, you can help keep your kids (and yourself) virus-free and well-schooled on flu 101. Here’s what you need to know and do to keep you and your family healthy, particularly as we enter back-to-school season.

  1. Get vaccinated when the vaccines become available. There will be a seasonal flu vaccine and an H1N1 vaccine available in mid-October, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
African Americans have lower influenza immunization rates compared to the rest of the population according to the (CDC). Myths, a lack of awareness of the need for immunization, cost (prices for shots range from $10 to $20, but most health plans will cover the expense these days) and irregular visits to primary care physicians all play roles in this health gap. Make it a point to get yourself and your children vaccinated and you’ll be well-prepared for flu season.

  2. Teach your kids the importance of hand washing and using sanitizing gels, wipes, etc., as needed.
    Addressing the spread of germs in schools is essential to the health of our youth, our schools and our nation. What role can you play? Teach your kids good hand-washing hygiene. Here are the ABC’s of hand washing:A.    Tell your kids to wet their hands with warm water;
    B.    Apply a plain, non-antimicrobial soap (this means it does not contain an antiseptic ingredient);
    C.    Rub your hands together vigorously for 20 seconds, rubbing the wrists, between the fingers, and under the fingernails,
    D.    Rinse your hands thoroughly and dry with a clean towel.
    E.    Shut the faucet off with a paper towel, especially if you’re washing your hands in a public bathroom.
    F.    Lastly, use a paper towel to turn the knob and to exit the bathroom. (Remember, some viruses and bacteria can live from 20   minutes up to 2 hours or more on hard surfaces like doorknobs.)
  3. Let go of your fear of needles, vaccines, etc.
Flu shots cannot give you the flu. The best time to get an annual flu shot is in October and November; and if you’re at an increased risk (adults over age 50, children 6 months to 2 years and health care workers) you should make getting a flu shot a top priority.

  4. Eat right, exercise and get eight hours of sleep.
Students (and adults) need to get plenty of sleep and physical activity, drink water, and eat good food to stay healthy in the winter and all year. Don’t cheat your immune system by not doing the healthy basics: eating well, exercising often, and getting a good night’s sleep on most days of the week.

  5. Practice makes perfect and reminders are helpful, too.
Kids forget sometimes, as well as adults. It’s important to practice your flu-prevention basics daily. While you should aim to wash your hands at least three times per day, it’s also important to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue after coughing or sneezing. And, don’t forget to remind them not to touch their eyes, nose or mouth during the day. Germs are often spread this way.

College Campus Safety

August 20, 2009 by Beth Leave a Comment

Do you have a daughter, sister, niece or friend going off to college? Maybe for the first time? This article, posted by Cheryl Watterson is a must read for any young woman going to college – College Campus Safety for Women.

Courtesy of Cheryl Watterson Self Defense with an Attitude

Women At Risk – College Campus Safety

Young women are heading back to college this month and for some this will be their first time away from home.  If you are one who will be going off to college soon, be vigilant about your personal safety and take some steps to ensure your safety and security while at school.

One of the things you can do is take an on-campus RAD Self-Defense Training Class.  This class will provide some basic self-defense tips while teaching young women self-defense techniques and tactics to protect and defense themselves against an attacker.  Check with your university/college and sign up!!

More and more we hear in the news about young women who are sexually assaulted, raped, and even murdered on or around college campuses. As we send our young adults off to college, be sure to arm them with safety knowledge and safety awareness of how to protect themselves.

There may be situations on campus where you find yourself in potentially vulnerable situations – walking to a late night class alone, jogging by yourself along deserted pathways, parking in poorly lit garages or parking lots, or just being unaware of the dangers around you.

Campus Safety for College Students and Educators:
Self-Defense Knowledge and Awareness to Staying Safe

There are ways for you to stay safe on campus. As previously mentioned, most universities and college campus’ offer self-defense classes such as RAD Self-Defense. This type of training can give you a tremendous sense of confidence and self-empowerment.

You can also use campus protection or security services; always stay with others in a group-especially late at night; stay in control when drinking and partying with others; and carry some type of self-protection device such as pepper spray or mace, a personal alarm, or a TASER C2. (These are all non-lethal protection devices). Being armed with both mental and physical awareness along with some type of personal protection device could ultimately save your life if attacked or assaulted!
