About Us
Richard Slater: Richard moved to Jasper in 1975 at the age of 9. After starting to install carpet at his Uncle’s store in 1982. He continued installing carpet for over 20 years. In 1992, he decided to start selling flooring materials, showing carpet samples out of the trunk of his car as well as installing them. With over 30 years experience, great installers, office helpers & and the support of a close-knit community, he opened the doors to Slater Floors in 1999, which expanded in 2004 and again in 2010.
Dawne Slater: Dawne & Richard are Newlyweds. While they’ve been best friends for years, they just recently decided to become life partners. She works part time in the office handling bookeeping while maintaining their main objective, staying focused on family and raising their kids.
Tosha Tinnin: Tosha is the newest addition to Slater Floors. She’s training to be our next office manager and is in the office full time to answer any questions you may have.

Audrie Pryor: Audrie handles all of the data entry and marketing, photographing projects, as well as helping with customers as needed.
INSTALLERS
Stan Walden: Stan has been working for Richard since 1998 as our Hardwood Installer, Sander, and Refinisher. He has been working for Richard longer than any other installer. He has been sanding and refinishing hardwood floors since 1993. He has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
John Hall: John has been working for Richard since 2005 as our Tile Installer. He has been doing tile work for over 20 years. He has been married since 1994 to April, Dustin Eggley’s sister. John and April have two children: a son, Trenton, and a daughter, Kendall.
Keith Totherow: Keith has been working for Richard since 2010 as our Carpet and Vinyl Installer. He has been doing carpet work for over 15 years. Before Richard owned his own store, Keith worked with him installing carpet for over 5 years.
Larisa Meffert: Larisa has been working for Richard since 2004 as our Painter. She has been painting since 2000. Larsia has been married since 1996 to Jeremy.
Andy Milton : Andy is one of our quality tile installers.
Taylor Grimsley: Taylor is another one of our quality tile installers.
Ronnie Ledford: Ronnie is yet another one of our quality tile installers.
Eric Norris: Eric takes care of all if the miscellaneous jobs and installations as needed.
Rusty Grantham: Rusty takes care of all of Slater’s plumbing needs.
Jeff McNeely: Jeff takes care of all of Slater’s electrical needs.
Tim Ingram: Tim handles all of our frameless glass installs.
We also have a great countertop company called Crowes to handle all of our custom countertop installations.
