I so remember when Hans was on the Food Network Star’s 1st season and I was so excited that he was representing our small area of North Georgia. Then, not long after the show, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and what a wild ride he, his family and our little town went through. Hans is definitely a STRONG man to have gone through all that he’s gone through and to have such a great attitude. I think highly of this man and truly appreciate him keeping the faith of our small town and what he’s done cooking wise and his beautiful Woodbridge Inn.
Per Hans: Facebook shared this memory today from 6 years ago when a brain infection threatened to remove me from this crazy ride. Doctors originally diagnosed it as cancer, but luckily Dr Cahill disagreed and the drama unfolded with a positive outcome. Doctors said I had a 2% chance of surviving the stomach cancer, but there is no number small enough to express the odds of surviving both massive brain infections.
Today I’m back at MD Anderson to share my story with others at their annual Survivors’ Conference…so important. It’s inspiring to hear how others have survived and thrived.
Gesundheit friends…be well and enjoy your health.
