Continuing to fuel fires…
As of today, Wednesday, November 16, we are still battling 37 large fires and will continue to do so into mid December 🙁
These fires have affected Southern States. More than 80,000 acres have burned in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia.
Fires have been burning in North Georgia since a lightening strike seems to have happened around mid October in the xx National Forest.
I remember letting Miss Sadie out first thing in the morning and smelling smoke. Where we live in Bent Tree, up on Chestnut Cove Mountain with only one way up and off this mountain, if you smell smoke, you better be calling someone.
So I called our Bent Tree Security to see if we had a fire in Bent Tree. Lance told me no, not in Bent Tree but what smoke we were smelling was from fires in GIlmer and Fannin County.
Now almost amonth later and because of the drought that is going on in our area, we’re dealing with fires all over North Georgia, over 10,000 acres! There are also fires in Alabama, Tennessee, and North and South Carolina.
