As a business owner, it’s very important to stay in touch with your prior clients and customers, one way or another? They are a great referral source for you and, if you did a great job, they will use you again.
A business card is perfect but over time, they can get misplaced/lost.
A sticker with your contact information somewhere easily found is very good.
A consistent follow-up email (TSI newsletter) or direct mail (www.heartfeltpromotions.com) is very important.
Any way to stay in front of your prior clients or customers so they remember you and can easily access your information is so very important.
Let me give you an example:
We are scheduled to have our floors refinished by Dalton Discount Floors and we have to move our Grandfather Clock. We’ve had this clock for over 23 years and never had any issues so we never had it serviced but…from what we found out, a Grandfather Clock should be serviced every 10-years or so…
On the inside door of our clock, Clock Works, http://www.atlantaclockworks.com/, had put their sticker with their information. Now, we need it serviced and were able to easily find their info and call them to have this done. If they had not left their sticker with their information on the inside of the clock, after 23 years, we would never have remembered who they were, as they never stayed in contact with us. But because they left their information on a sticker inside the door of the clock, they got a call back from a client, after 23 years…
Just think, if they had consistently stayed in touch with us about maintaining our Grandfather Clock, (Greg told me our clock should have been maintained every 10-year) they would have gotten business from us at least twice…
The point to take away from this post is, stay in touch with your prior clients and customers and call Clock Works if you need your Grandfather Clock serviced (see, we can all be good referral sources…)
So always be thinking of doing a good job for your client or customer and then, how can you stay in touch with them so when the time comes that they need your services again or can refer you, they’ll easily remember you and have easy access to your information.
