Check out this Sunday Morning Message:
“Say: “Obey God, and obey the Messenger: but if you turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to preach the clear Message.
God has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance of power, as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion – the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change their state, after the fear in which they lived, to one of security and peace: ‘They will worship Me alone and not associate anything with Me. ‘If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.
So establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and obey the Messenger; that you may receive mercy.
Never think that the Unbelievers are going to frustrate God’s Plan on earth: their abode is the Fire,- and it is indeed an evil refuge!”
~ 24:54-57 ~
What a messed up and horrible time – it seems – here on earth. Wars and rumors of wars, but the believers stand on clear evidence from their Lord. Their hearts are witnesses to God’s Eternal Mercy and His Absolute Justice.
“Satan promises you destitution and commands you to sin. God promises you forgiveness from Him and abundance, and God is All Encompassing, All Knowing.” ~ 2:268
The believers never waver in their Faith. If they hear a whisper from Satan that they should fear another man, or pain here on earth, or fear their circumstances, they turn to God and say, “We fear You alone! To You we return, and to You we are responsible. We associate nothing with You. You are the One, the Ever Present, the Eternal! Far are You above what we may think of You or what others may associate with You!”
The struggle we face is only that we may submit to God now and until we die, and that we may die in a state of submission to God, in a state of peace, in a state of surrender, in a state of trust and acceptance of our Lord.
Many are afraid in this life and worry about death. Yes, we will all taste death. Enter into God’s peace now! Accept the consequences of your actions and turn to righteousness, for our Lord is Most Merciful, Ever Gracious.
Maybe they will turn to their Lord if they must stay vigilant of death. Did they think they would live forever? Surely we must return to our Lord at a decreed time.
God tests us with abundance and He tests us with scarcity. He tests us with war and He tests us with peace. Who will strive to righteousness in times of turmoil and in times of contentment?
There is something larger than ourselves here. It includes our brothers, our sisters, our “enemies,” our neighbors, those we disagree with, those we agree with, our pets, the plants in our yard and in the forests near us – it includes all living beings we ever come into contact with. Our actions and our intentions echo throughout eternity.
We will find with our Lord our interactions with His creation. I pray He grants us grace upon grace so that when we return to Him, we find acceptance, and love, and joy, and beauty, and righteousness, and goodwill.
Would God give us excuses? “O our Lord, excuse us for not acting righteously on earth. We had a terrible leader. Punish him, not us!” Those are the words of those in the fire! Those are the words of those who associate others with God!
Truth it is to say on the Inevitable Day, “O our Lord, we faced many trials on earth, but we turned to You every time. We patiently persisted in spite of difficulties, and for every good we were grateful. Your Word was true, and with You we have found acceptance and eternal peace. Glory be to You Lord. You are the One and the Only, the Absolutely Merciful, the Benevolent Creator. In You we put our trust.”
May God’s peace be upon us now, on the day we die, and on the day we are raised up. Amen
